Family Emergency Fund

The PDS Family Emergency Fund has been established to provide emergency relief to families who have been affected by the coronavirus.

Families who have experienced the following situation due to COVID-19 should consider applying for funds:

Please join us as we close out the school year with our final chapel. Mr Graham has a special challenge from God’s word for our fabulous departing 6th grade boys. We believe it will encourage all boys, parents, and families.

The 2nd part of our talent extravaganza will be released on Friday after Backyard Wacky Olympics Straight Outta Left 'Field' Day!

Look for the link to the video in an email and posted on the website at 2pm on Friday.

Friday Chapel, April 24, 2020

What are boys learning about Truth during this time at home? Join us for Friday Chapel as we continue unpacking the seventh virtue of manhood, The Faithful Follower.

Help us share some PDS spirit on Facebook by using one of our PDS profile frames!

It’s easy to apply them. Just go to your profile and click on your profile photo. You’ll see an option to add a frame. Search for “Presbyterian Day School” and you’ll see our frames.

Can you believe it’s already been a whole month?

We asked our faculty what they miss the most about being on campus.

Spoiler alert: we miss the boys!

The service we are using to allow access to digital books, Epic, is available free to schools, but only during regular school hours.

While there is a way for the school to extend free access to families through the end of June due to the closure, that would require us to give all of our parent emails to Epic, which is against the school’s privacy policy.

If you want to access Epic outside of school hours you will need to create your own own account. While you do get 30 days for free, you will have to provide a credit card to create the account.

Melissa Smith
Chief Technology Officer

For the duration of the closure, we will be sending out text message notifications when we announce information via email and the website to help keep parents as up-to-date as possible.

Communicating with Teachers and Faculty

All teachers and faculty members have access to their work email and their work phones during the closure.

Link to Faculty Directory.

Getting Support for Technology

If you need support for the school iPads and Macbooks or for access to any needed curriculum, please email or call the PDS Tech Hotline at 901-842-4622 or 901-842-4648.

PDS provides a lengthy (and longer than most schools) grace period of late pick-up during which it does not charge families. Boys left at school past their dismissal time (15 minutes for Early Childhood, 30 minutes for Elementary) will be taken to After-Care and charged the drop-in fee of $25.

(Please note: On most Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, teachers in grades 1-6 remain in their classrooms until 3:40 to provide extra help for their students. On any given day, however, some teachers will not be in their rooms due to the rotating after-school duty schedule or due to their leading an enrichment activity. Parents and/or boys should confirm that a teacher will be available for after-school classroom extra help on specific days.)
