Spelling Week of January 27

This week we will explore diphthongs.  Two vowels together sometimes form brand-new sounds that are neither long nor short.  They are called diphthongs.  Once again, there is not a rule that helps when deciphering which spelling to use.  Therefore, we are giving you the words this week.  Study!  Study!

Focus: ou, ow

Words:  now, cow, power, clown, howl, our, mouth, proud, snout, house, ouch

Red Words:  should, would, could, does, want

Looking for ways for extra practice?  Go to Spelling City.  Click on the link below and look for the focus of the week.
