This week we will continue learning about consonant blends. Unlike a digraph (sh, th, ch), each sound of a blend is heard, but the sounds are blended together. We will be practicing short vowel and long vowel magic e words that have blends in the initial position.
Focus: Initial Blends with s (sl, sp, sn, sk, sm, st, sw, sc, squ, spl, scr, str, shr, spr)
Example Words: snap, sled, sprig, skin, slate, strip, slab, snake, swim, scam, stove, smash, stop, scale, shred)
Red Words: really, there, by (These words will be on the test.)
