We learned about the twin consonant rule this week! When f, l, s or z is heard after a short vowel at the end of a one syllable word, there are twins!! Some examples are puff, will, boss, and buzz. We are continuing to build onto our red words. We had a blast practicing them in shaving cream on our tables! We practiced our blending with letter tiles, and wrote in our journals to continue sentence building with capitalization and punctuation.
We learned a cool song to help us remember the 3D shapes. Please ask your son to sing it to you at home, and to point out some real life 3D shapes in your house or as you drive around town. We had a great time in our classroom going on a scavenger hunt to find 3d shapes. We reviewed tally marks with our dry erase boards and worked with a partner to decompose numbers from 0 to 10.
We ended the week learning about Rosa Parks during Black History Month.
Have a great week!
