We were hoping our snow dance would work, and have a snow day on Friday?!?! We will try again, and hope for a future snow day!
We practiced our handwriting with letter N, played categories with words that started with N, and read FUN IN THE SUN. We practiced our ABC order with our red words and put our last names in ABC order. This was a lot of fun, and a bit challenging! We also continued to work on our blends by playing head hunters, practicing writing the blends we heard our teacher call out, and worked on a cut/paste blend activity. We enjoyed playing red word bingo this week, but we had the most fun playing red word basketball -Grizzlies vs. Rockets! We worked on our coin identification, counting money and tally marks with a coin scoop activity. We practiced decomposing numbers to 10 and worked on our addition sentences/facts. We played "war" with a partner using playing cards to practice our addition and rolled/tallied with dice for some extra practice with tally marks. We learned a lot of interesting facts about Jackie Robinson this week during our Black History Month study.
We are looking forward to learning more red words, incorporating letter E into our writing, and doing some fun, learning Valentine Day Activities next week!
Have a great week! Have a safe and fun winter break!!
