Flight Plan - Your Mission to Become a Man

CHARACTER EDUCATION

Flight Plan:
Your Mission to Become a Man

Flight Plan

Flight Plan offers boys and young men a definition and vision of manhood that can help them to make wise choices during their teenage years and beyond. It frankly and authentically discusses a number of issues they will face, including friendships and peer pressure, drinking and drugs, girls and dating, puberty and sex, and school and family relationships.

The definition of manhood we teach our boys:
A real man glorifies God by seeking an adventuresome life of purpose and passion as he protects and serves others.

This definition of manhood, along with seven Biblically-based virtues shown below, serves as the foundation for giving boys a vision of manhood and for how they should approach a host of teenage challenges.

“I plan to use many of the questions for reflection and discussion in my courses. This book is a great resource.”
Greg O’Melia, Headmaster of the Buckley School in New York City

“As a therapist, every day I sit with boys and young men who are lost, hungry for relationship, and struggling. Young males in our culture are desperate for information, attention, and understanding. I wouldn’t suggest you get a copy of this book and read it with a boy you love, I would strongly recommend you do so.”
David Thomas Director Of Counseling For Men And Boys, Daystar Counseling; Author Of Wild Things: The Art Of Nurturing Boys

Parents are the Primary Counselors [PODCAST] - 008

Episode 2 in our "The Three Primary Roles of Parents" series. The 2nd primary role is for parents to be the primary counselors in their children’s lives.

When sinners are parenting other sinners, that produces conflict. How do we know to be the counselor in those conflicts? We need to model a biblical model of conflict resolution. Does how we handle conflict with our spouse, with co-workers, and with close friends model the love of Jesus Christ?

In the last episode, Braxton launched a new series on "The Three Primary Roles of a Parent." In this episode, he explores the first role: "Parents are the Primary Teachers."

While youth leaders, Christian school teachers, and Sunday School leaders are an important part of your child's life, we rely far too much on them to teach godly values.
