Nineteen 6th grade PDS boys represented delegates from seven countries, which included Australia, Botswana, Cote d’Ivoire, Madagascar, Nepal, Rwanda, and Suriname. Those participating were Turner Bishop, Collin Craft, McRae Dickinson, Andrew Harris, Kyler Herring, Mark Hieatt, Nash Kaye, Zachary Keasling, Loro Lado, Clayton Nearn, Ashley Park, Jace Ra, Forest Rudd, Cole Rutherford, Kevlar Singh, Witt Smith, Garner Uhlhorn, and Christopher Yarbro.
They learned to respectfully agree to disagree in a diverse world. Each team was challenged by the research process and writing a formal resolution to present in Committee and before the General Assembly.
Outstanding Delegate Awards:
- Turner Bishop (Madagascar)
- Christopher Yarbro (Nepal)
All of these 6th grade boys let it be known they were more than capable of holding their own in a debate with older students. “Our PDS boys were articulate, knowledgeable, and confident throughout the all-day conference,” said Mrs. Nina Haley, Model UN Coach.
Congratulations are in order to all of these boys for maintaining the high standard that previous PDS teams have set!
