PDS competed in the MATHCOUNTS School Competition at MUS, Saturday, January 24.
Fisher Marks, McKnight Johnston, Ryan Peng, and Max Shackelford formed the team of 6th graders. The boys competed against more than 10 area teams comprised of 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.
They placed 1st in the 6th grade team division and Max Shackelford won highest scorer from the team.
MATHCOUNTS is a national middle school coaching and competitive mathematics program that promotes mathematics achievement through a series of fun and engaging “bee” style contests.
The team looks forward to competing in the Memphis Chapter level competition Saturday, February 21, at Christian Brothers University.
