Update from the Headmaster: Parent Survey - March 30, 2020

Dear PDS Parents,

I appreciate the extra effort that has gone into shifting PDS from our campus into your home. Our teachers have been working more than ever to provide an outstanding experience for our boys. In fact, I have never seen them work harder. You, as parents, have also been working harder than ever, and we appreciate the continued partnership.

I would like to have your perspective on how you believe we are navigating the COVID-19 pandemic. Please complete the following brief survey to help us know how we are doing and where we might need to make some changes. Please complete a separate survey for each of your sons as we gather data for each grade level.

Please see the email sent on March 30, 2020 for the link to the survey.

We are excited to be adding live connections this week for our younger grades. Your son’s teachers will be communicating with you on how to connect to the live sessions. Our goal is to provide a balance of synchronous (live) and asynchronous (video) classes to our students. PDS belongs to a network of independent schools around the country, and we are, as a group, sharing best practices as we move through this new territory together. While trying to balance school and screen time during this situation is difficult, please know PDS is being mindful of the time your son spends connected to his device.

At the moment, it is difficult for PDS to get our mail. We ask you to continue to utilize email and phones to connect with PDS faculty. For those who need to make a tuition payment, please use our bill and pay site instead of sending a check. I certainly appreciate this help as we continue to provide for the many faculty and staff members of PDS.

These are uncertain times. I ask you to please reach out to PDS if you have any needs, and we will try to help. Even though this pandemic has changed our world, we can rest assured that we are a strong community, and we will, by the grace of God, emerge even stronger. The faculty and staff of PDS are praying for you each day.

Please stay safe,

Steve Hancock
