Week of February February 10th

This week we introduced the letter Cc. We made our car letter card, built cars, and made Valentine cards.

This week and next, we will be working on the numbers 11-20. We used unifix towers to represent teen numbers. We also subitized by practicing identifying how many items were in ten frames without counting!

We also loved celebrating Valentine’s Day with our second grade buddies when they came down to help us read our valentines! We read Valentines Day by Gail Gibbons and enjoyed a special cookie treat from the teachers!

We also had a visitor from the Carpenters’ Art Garden came to speak to us. She was very appreciative of all the art supplies the boys brought in.

Next week, we look forward to studying the letter Oo, continuing teenage numbers through 20, and focusing on US presidents!

Looking Ahead:

February 14-17th Winter Break, No School

March 6-16th             Spring Break, No School
