Presbyterian Day School strives to glorify God by developing boys in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man. The school views itself as a ministry of Second Presbyterian Church to boys and families in the Memphis area by providing a challenging academic program in a distinctly Christian environment.

PDS selects for admission students whom the school judges to have the highest likelihood of success in its academic and other programs; who will help to build a strong, diverse class; and who will help build a school community anchored by the school’s guiding Christian principles.

In selecting students and building an overall class characterized by academic excellence and diversity, the school will consider several factors. To evaluate a student’s potential for academic excellence, the school will use age-appropriate testing, an interview, and confidential reports by current teachers/administrators (if available). The school may also consider the overall composition of the class, recognizing diversity as a measure of class and school strength, and in differentiating among similarly strong applicants, it may give some degree of consideration to families with a boy currently enrolled at PDS or who are active members of Second Presbyterian Church.

PDS does not discriminate on the basis of race, religious affiliation, color, national or ethnic origin, and physical handicap/disability in any of its admission policies and practices.
