Dear 3rd Grade Parents,

I pray this email finds you healthy and hunkering down at home. As we continue into our second full week of distance learning next week, our teachers are very ready to see your sons and interact with them face-to-face. On Monday at 1:30pm, we will be using Google Meet to have our first homeroom meeting with all the boys. Initially, we will prioritize social interaction during 3rd grade Google Meet sessions. Once we feel all boys have adjusted to this format, our scheduled sessions will become more instructional.

We do hope that your son is able to join online for these meetings. However, we also know that unexpected issues may pop up preventing your son from joining a class session. With this in mind, we will be recording the instructional sessions and will provide directions on how to access these videos. Classroom teachers will initiate each session, and only students or adults within the PDS organization will have access to the live session and archived recordings.

On Monday morning, we will be posting videos to guide your son through accessing his homeroom Google Meet. While we anticipate the Google Meet sessions moving forward without a hitch, we also know the demands being placed on all of our networks during this time of distance learning. If you have any technology needs, please reach out to the PDS tech department at

PDS teachers are excited to “see” your boys next week!

All the best,

Laura Glenn

Dear Parents,

As we move to online learning during this unusual time, PDS is supplying your son with the laptop he has used throughout the school year. Home use of the device is to support educational purposes, with lessons that have been specifically designed for your son by his teacher and the grade level team.

Several important points are listed below:

Dear Elementary Parents,

We teach our boys to be Bold Adventurers in life, and now it seems we all have an opportunity to be bold as we adjust to a new adventure in teaching and learning. While PDS is quite comfortable with the use of technology as a classroom tool, distance learning is new territory for us all. Thank you in advance for your flexibility as we work to balance the health of our community and the pursuit of academics.

Here is an overview of what you can expect while we conduct school from home.
