Spelling Week of September 23

This week we will be exploring one syllable words with one short vowel ending in -ff, -ll, -ss, or -zz.  This is otherwise known as the Twin Rule.  An easy way to remember when to do this is remembering the following sentence.  Sammy Loves Fried Zebra!

Focus:  Twin Rule (-ff, -ll, -ss, -zz)

Most weeks we will not be giving you an exact list as we want the boys to learn the focus skill for that week.  Here are some example words that you can practice this week.

Example Words:  muff, bell, fuzz, sass, fell, bill, cuff, mess, jazz, pass, dress, drill

Red Words (These are sight words that will be on the test.):  like, where, when

Looking for ways for extra practice?  Go to Spelling City.  Click on the link below.  Look for the focus of the week.
