Spelling Week of August 19

This week in spelling we are concentrating on the Consonant-Vowel-Consonant (CVC) pattern with a special focus on the short vowel sounds for a, o, and u.

Most weeks we will not give you an exact list of words to study because we want the boys to learn and apply the skill for that week.  Here are some example words that you can practice this week.

Example Words:  dad, got, hut, mom, mug, rat, hot, ran, sat, run, rod, gag, dot, sun, gum

Red Words (These are sight words that will be on the test.):  was, want, the, of, and
